Voices of Temple Stay participants

Saeko Yamamoto

The days spent in nature, refusing information from the outside world, were extremely sophisticated and beautiful.

After a fruitful 5 nights and 6 days, I returned home with a full heart.

Morning class on the last day. When the names of the past chief priests were read aloud, I immediately felt that we were in the flow of the universe.
I thought it was a miracle that I was able to exist in the midst of such a huge flow and share the same time and space as everyone who was there. Tears did not stop.

My vow for the past few years has been, “First of all, I will try to build peace within a 3 meter radius of myself.”
I put into practice the teachings from Daigu-sama’s books and YouTube, such as greetings and the Four Setsuho, and although it may be presumptuous, I feel like I am gradually becoming able to do them.

Now that I’ve finished Temple Stay, I’m thinking of expanding my goal to a 10m radius.
This is because I could feel changes in myself, even in a short period of time, such as being able to wash myself with a harsh cloth day by day, and being able to run faster when moving around.
We will carry out the “Six Actions” that we can do if we try.

Face yourself, work with friends, and enjoy delicious food. You can tell someone by the sound of their footsteps, and you can tell by their manners that you respect someone. The days I spent in nature, refusing information from the outside world, were extremely sophisticated and beautiful.

I would like to thank Mr. Ogu Osho for giving me the opportunity to stay at the temple and for giving me very valuable guidance despite his busy schedule, and Mr. Hideyuki for preaching a story full of compassion, and for always giving me heartfelt guidance. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the Uchideshi, the staff of Fukugonji Temple, and the beloved Sangha for providing such a good atmosphere.

I sincerely pray for the continued development of Butshinkai.
Thank you for your continued support.

P.S.
A piece of the mop used for work came out from the pocket of the hoodie. I’m happier than any souvenir.
