朝課(ChouKa)・晩課(BanKa)
Morning and evening recitation.
Sutras are recited once in the morning and once in the evening every day in the main hall.
Sutras (chiefly The Heart Sutra) are recited. -
典座 (Tenzo)
A role at a Zen temple in charge of feeding the monks. Cooking is also an important part of the training.

小食(Shoujiki) small meal
中食(Chuujiki) midday meal
薬石(Yakuseki) medicinal rockA small meal is breakfast, a midday meal is lunch and yakuseki is dinner.

東司(Tousu)
A toilet in a temple. The term is used in the Soto sect of Buddhism, which is considered one of the Zen sects; in other sects it is sometimes called sechigakushi.

Daily tasks essential for self-sufficient monastic life.
