Voices of Temple Stay participants

Tanii Shikan

I'm now able to do things willingly that I didn't do before because they were too much hassle.

Hello everyone at Fukugonji Temple.
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to experience Temple Stay.

Although it was only for five days, I have learned a lot of things in my own way.

To address the question, “How will I use this experience in my personal life in the future?” it is waking up early.

Today, I woke up at 5am, prayed at the Buddhist altar, cleaned the bathroom and started work.

I used to hate mornings and couldn’t even think about getting up at 5am, but I strongly want to continue this.

And before, I used to get sleepy as soon as I woke up early, but now, for some reason, my eyes are clear and I can move with energy.

Also, I am now able to do things that I did not do willingly because I used to think, “Why should I bother doing this?”

It was very challenging to practise in the monastery, but when I have a hard time, I will remember Temple Stay and devote myself to the practices.

Once again, thank you very much for your kindness!

I sincerely wish you all good health.

Yours sincerely
