Voices of Temple Stay participants

Shuhei Ogawa.

It was a life-changing experience

I joined Temple Stay because I wanted to correct my disordered rhythm in my life.

Changes and realisations in my own consciousness and body

As I write this on 13 October, I have been able to continue my habit of getting up at 5am. Also, my meal times used to vary from day to day, but so far I have been able to follow the meal times at the temple.

In terms of my feelings, I used to spend a lot of time feeling uncomfortable, but after Temple Stay I have more time feeling ‘pleasant’.

I can speak up more than before, and I think the other person’s reaction when I greet them has changed. Before, I used to greet people in a voice so low that they couldn’t hear me.

I sleep better than before.

How will you apply this to your life in the future?

– I will keep the habit of getting up at 5am.
– Keep to my meal times.
– Attend training sessions
– Eat porridge in the morning.
– Recite the five chants before eating.
I will try to incorporate these things into my life.

Thank you for the wonderful experience. It was a life-changing experience. I don’t know of any other place that can treat you so earnestly.
I will never forget the time when Mr Shinryu was angry with me. I could feel how serious the disciples were. I felt that I had to become serious too.

If my rhythm of life becomes disturbed again, I will join Temple Stay. I look forward to working with you again.
